ILO Mission Objectives

Primary: Galaxy First Light Imaging

Earth observation
(climate change, space weather,
precession, rotation, etc)

Lunar surface observation

(help develop lunar base)

Additional applications:
VLF, SETI, NEOs, Solar storm warning
Observe rotation of the Earth
for precise measurements, precession,
Aquarius equinox epoch
Earth Axial Precession
Earth axial precession,
called "Earth's 3rd
Motion", is the
geo-dynamic process
which results in the Sun
appearing from Earth at
any equinox to move
counter-clockwise on the
ecliptic through
constellations of the
zodiac: The Precession of

“TRAPPIST-1 SETI Aquarius Working Group”

Our efforts to form a TRAPPIST-1 SETI Aquarius Working Group will consider evolving 21st Century
techniques, such as VLBI and Astronomy from the Moon, searching for Life in the Trappist-1 System
using major next-generation international telescopes, as well as accurately observing the Earth’s
rotation / precession for achieving more precise values for multiple applications.

Steve Durst, ILOA The Working Group Activities Include:

Jill Tarter, SETI
Seth Shostak, SETI • Advancing Astrobiology Initiatives
Buzz Aldrin, Apollo 11 Astronaut • Searching for life in Trappist-1 System
William Waller, The Galactic Inquirer • Planning SETI Research with major international
Debra Fischer, Yale University telescopes
Margarita Safonova, M. P. Birla Institute of • Hosting International Galaxy Forums about
Fundamental Research Astrobiology, Trappist-1, SETI
Nikos Prantzos, Institut d'Astrophysique de Paris • Holding Competitions for students and teachers
Byeong-Cheol Lee, KASI to increase their interest in Astrobiology and SETI
Inwoo Han, KASI

Aquarius Boundary Update and IAU Egalitarian Considerations
To be presented to IAU Committees, Divisions, Symposia, Working Groups, General Assembly
Resolution Rationale
* IAU Executive Committee
* IAU Resolutions Committee
* Earth Axial Precession advancing Precession of the Equinoxes * IAU News Bureau
determines arrival of the Aquarius Equinox Epoch (AEE) to be
about 2600 AD according to official IAU 1930 Constellation map
* IAU EC Working Group for Equity and Inclusion
by Delporte, based on 1875 sidereal data.
* IAU EC WG for Women in Astronomy
* IAU WG for Archeoastronomy and Astronomy in Culture
* Updating IAU 1930 Constellation map by 22nd Century to
account for precession, relativity and other astrodynamic forces is
an understood IAU 21st Century task. * IAU S358 Astronomy for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion
* IAU S367: Education and Heritage in Astronomy, Big Data
* IAU Strategic Plan 2020-2030
* Beginning IAU Constellation Boundary Update with location of
AEE start at epoch 2000.0 will advance both IAU science and
society imperatives, per IAU Strategic Plan 2020-2030, Goals 1 * IAU Division A: Fundamental Astronomy
through 5 * IAU Division A, Commission 1
* IAU Division C: Education. Outreach and Heritage
* IAU Division J: Galaxies and Cosmology
* Especially similar to Goal 2 to "Foster inclusiveness", an
Aquarius Boundary Update with AEE 2000.0 Resolution will
amplify 21st Century Egalitarian Considerations for equity, * IAU 31st General Assembly Local Organizing Committee
diversity, and inclusivity, will be good for the IAU, Astronomy, and * ILOA Galaxy Forum Korea 2022 August TBD, Busan, S Korea
* IAU 31st General Assembly Resolutions Meeting,
Humanity, and like "inclusiveness", is the right thing, the correct
