Introduction
Since the pandemic hits planting becomes widely famous because it is a good way
to lessen the boredom of the people during quarantine and one of the common
problem that the “plantitos” and “plantitas” are facing is the insects in plants.
Insects causes damage such as holes or notches in foliage and other plant parts,
leaf defoliation, cutting plants off at the soil surface and Insects can also transmit
bacterial, viral, or fungal infection into a plant that can be a health hazard for us
humans.
Pesticide is one of the common solution to prevent that problem, Lemon is also a
good natural pesticide and Chili contains a natural and generally non-toxic
ingredients to repel or get rid of pests. Chili pepper is use as alternative pesticide,
the spice of the chili stings the insects.
Related Literature
Lemon fruit is from the continent of South Asia. It is a yellow, oval citrus fruit with thick
skin, fragrant and acidic juice, the juice of it is about 5% citric acid it has ph of 2-3, Lemon
trees are usually small but the tallest height it can have is 6 meters. It is a good source of
Vitamin C it can also prevent and protect us in some health conditions and can improve our
digestive health. Lemon fruit has a considerable percentage of citric acid, which is found to
have natural repellent properties.
There are a lot of pests and insects that dislike the smell of lemons, Especially ants, just a
few drops of squeezed lemon juice the ants will quickly go away.
The outer skin of lemon commonly known as the lemon peel can be dried and also used as
a natural pest repeller especially in those areas like the kitchen, where pesticides or any
other form of chemical can not be used to get rid of pests.
Related Literature
Chili pepper or “Siling Labuyo” is originated from our country Philippines, The
skin of it is smooth, it can have a length in about 2-3 centimeters, it also has a
short, conical shape, tapering to a rounded point on the non-stem en and it
has a very hot flavor. It is used in cooking to add spice in the dish, it also has a
properties that can prevent us in different aliments.

Insects do not like plants with a strong odor or taste of Chili pepper. The
capsaicin that gives chili powder its hot flavor is distasteful to insects. Spraying
plants or the soil around the plants with chili powder spray can keep insects
from taking a taste.
Methodology
PROCEDURE
Prepare – prepare or preparing is making (something) ready for use or consideration.
Slice- slice or slicing is cutting (something, especially food) into slices.
Squeeze- set aside is saving or keeping something, typically money or time, for a particular purpose.
Set aside- set aside is saving or keeping something, typically money or time, for a particular purpose
Crushed- crushed is deformed, pulverized, or forced inwards by compression.
Wet- is covered or touched with liquid moisten.
Fill- or filling is a cause (a space or container) to become full or almost full.

Cut- or cutting the the action of cutting something.

Remove- or removing is taking (something) away or off from the position occupied.
Suck- is an act of sucking something.
Plant- plant or planting is placing (a seed, bulb, or plant) in the ground so that it can
grow.
Methodology
Buried- placed or hidden underground
Wrapped- covered with paper or other material.

Poke- thrust (something) in a particular direction

EXPIRIMENTATION
Spray- spraying is apply (liquid) to someone or something in the form of a shower of tiny drops.
Mixed- mixing is combining or putting together to form one substance or mass.
Plant- plant or planting is placing (a seed, bulb, or plant) in the ground so that it can grow.
Materials

Lemon- is for the main product.
Chili- is for the second main product.
Lemon Zester-is a kitchen utensil for obtaining zest from lemon and other citrus fruit
Pestel and Mortar- to make the lemon peeled crushed into little pieces.
Knife and Chopping Board- to make the chili peeled crushed into little pieces.
Spray Bottle or Container- for finish lemon and chili product.
Procedure
First, we need to prepare the materials that we need for the project. Second, zest the lemon, then
put it in the soil for it to become fertilizer. Next, slice the lemon into two, then squeeze the juice
out of it, then put it in a strainer. After that, put the lemon juice into the spray bottle or container,
set aside the seeds of the lemon, then crush the chili pepper, and put it in the spray bottle or
container with the lemon juice on it. In planting the lemon seeds First, thoroughly wet the potting
soil so that it is moist but not drenched. Second, fill the smaller pot halfway, about an inch below
the rim, with soil. Then By cutting the lemon open, you can remove the seed. Remove all of the
pulp from the container's top. Sucking on it until it is clean is a good way to do this. Plant it as
soon as possible after that. The seed must remain moist when buried in the dirt in the smaller pot.
Plant the seed about half an inch deep in the center of the pot. Then, using a spray bottle,
carefully sprinkle water on the soil directly above the seed. Finally, wrap the pot in clear plastic
wrap, secure the edges with a strong rubber band, and poke small holes in the plastic wrap.

Conclusion and
Recommendations
We conclude that the lemon and chili pepper is more effective when the chili
pepper is more crushed. In the first trial we slightly crushed the chili pepper and
it is not slightly stick to the lemon and the juice of the chili pepper does not
slightly come out. In the second trial we crushed the chili pepper so hard and the
juice really come out of it.

After conducting the study, the researcher highly recommend this product. It is just
one of the way to make a natural pesticide and fertilizer that the materials can be
found in our own houses. We recommend that use a facemask and gloves when
doing and trying the product because the odor of the chilli pepper can harm our
eyes, hands and nose.
