Internet – is one of the digital technologies, is a vast
network that connects computers all over the world

communicate from anywhere with an Internet connection.

Digital technologies –it store and transmit data based on

the binary or dichotomous coding data.  or electronic
tools, systems, devices and resources that generate, store
or process data.
Such as social media, online games, multimedia, mobile
. phone, computer, chips, and semiconductor processor, as
well as CD and DVDs

Internet has profoundly affected almost every aspect of life, especially in the
developed world.
4

The internet also global in sense that it was produced

and is maintained by a number of global and transactional
corporation and organization including:

 Multinational corporation (e.g. Intel)

 IGOs and INGOs (e.g. World Intellectual property
organization (WIPO) , ICANN, UNESCO)

ONLINE SOCIAL NETWORKING

An online social networking – a service or site to
facilitate social interaction to help individuals find others of a common
interest, establish a forum for discussion, and exchange information.
Web 2.0 refers to the Internet applications that have transformed the
digital era in the aftermath of the dotcom bubble
Example; (Google Maps),Web applications ( Google Docs, Flickr), Video
sharing sites (YouTube), wikis (MediaWiki), blogs (WordPress), social
networking (Facebook), folksonomies (Delicious), Microblogging
(Twitter), podcasting (Podcast Alley) & content hosting services and many
more.
6

Web 2.0- is the fact that the material on it is

generate by the users (consumer) rather than the
prosumers of the system
Prosumers- who I simultaneously produce what
they consume or the one who operate on web 20
7

Global nature of different site users

SPAM
Spam- is digital junk mail: unsolicited communications
sent in bulk over the internet or through any electronic
messaging system.  that is, messages sent to multiple
recipients who did not ask for them.
 is one of the globalization true success stories
 Spam is may now represent as much 90% of all e-
mails- more than 100 billion of them- it represent a
real threat to the world wide web.
 Spam can cause significant harm by infecting users'
computers with malicious software capable of
damaging systems and stealing personal information.
It also can consume network resources

COMPUTER VIRUS
a computer virus- is a type of malicious code or
program written to alter the way a computer operates and
is designed to spread from one computer to another.
A virus operates by inserting or attaching itself to a
legitimate program or document that supports macros in
order to execute its code
Example; Morris Worm, Nimda, CryptoLocker and
many more
10

INTERNET IN CHINA
 in the end of 2007 there were 210 Million, China overtook the US in 2008
in the number of Internet users. Since only a small percentage of China ’ s
population currently uses the Internet,
 China will become the world leader in Internet use by an increasingly wide
margin.
 Among the major flows through the Internet in China are pirated films,
music, and TV shows that can be watched free of charge; the delivery to
mobile phones of mobile - Internet content (e.g. ringtones); online
multiplayer games; online communities with social networking and instant
messaging; gossip, photos, videos of American and European sports, etc.
11

 Internet flows in China are not much different from

the flows elsewhere in the world. However, what is
different is the active efforts by Chinese
government to erect barriers to those flows. In fact,
that barrier – the“ Great Firewall Barriers on the
Internet include restricted access to a large number
of foreign websites
 The Chinese government controls internet content
and restricts, deletes, or bans content it deems is not
in the interest of the state. This has grown to
become a long list of companies.
