Poet: William Blake Introduction of the Poet : William Blake Was born on November 28, 1757,died on August 12,1827. He was inspired by religious visions English poet, painter, engraver, and visionary. He was trained as a engraver. He then published his own works on etchings. Throughout his life he survived on small Commissions, never gaining much attention from the London Art world. He had a profound influence on romanticism as a literary movement. Due to his imagination, he was more at home and imagine about brooks, fairies and flowers. William Blake worked to bring about a change both in the social order and in the minds of men. Poem:(The Lamb) By William Blake IN SAMPLE WORDS: Mercy, Pity, Peace, and Love are listed as the four “virtues of delight”. The speaker states that all people pray to these in times of distress and thank them for blessings because they represent “ God, our father dear”. They are also, however, the characteristics of Man: Mercy is found in the human heart , Pity in the human face, Peace is a garment that envelops humans, and love exists in the human “ Form” or body.
