NUTRITION IN PLANTS
Autotrophic nutrition

There are 4 Heterotrophic nutrition

topics in this
block  Symbiosis & Nitrogen fixation

Recycling of nutrition
• Provides nutrients for the
growth of our body
Food is
• Provides the energy that
essential for is nessessary to do daily
living beings activites
• Helps in repair our body
as it  parts
• Protects the body from
various diseases
•Carbohydrate
•Proteins
•Vitamins List all the types
•Minarals of nutrients
•Fats
1. The process by which our body
takes in food and uses it for
growth and devolpments is
calles nutritions
2. the process by which living
things taken food and utilize it Nutritions
for growth and repair
3. They process by which an
organism obtains its food is
called nutritions
Autotropich nutritions
• Most plants that have chlorophyll can make
their own food through the process called
photosynthesis. These plants have an
autotrophic mode of nutrition

• Some plants do not have chlorophyll, so they

cannot make their own food and they are
dependent on other organism for food. These
plants have a heterotrophic mode of nutrition.
These plants survive by establishing either a
symbiotic or parasitic relationship with other
organisms.

IS
• The word photosynthesis is
derived from the words photos
meaning light and synthesis
meaning to make. Most plants are
green due to the presence of a
pigment called chlorophyll that
helps to absorb the light energy
from sun. This energy is utilised
by the plants to convert carbon
dioxide and water taken from the
environment to gulcose and
oxygen through the process
called photosynthesis. Gulcose is
food for the plant
