What is Sentence?
-is a group of words that are put together to mean
something.

-it is the basic unit of language.

-it does by following the grammatical basic rules of


syntax.
Types of Sentences According to
Function.
Declarative Sentence:
- it states a fact, an opinion, or an intent.
- ends with full stop / period.

Examples:
1.) I take care of my cosmetic products because I love them.
2.) Books are fascinating.

Interrogative Sentence:
- asks a question.
- ends with a question mark.

conjunction “or”.

- either makes a request or a command.
- ends with a either period or exclamation mark if the command
is strong.

Examples:
1.) Submit your output tomorrow.

- it expresses strong emotion.
- ends with a exclamation mark.

Examples:

- who receives the action.

- it contains one independent clause.

Examples:

- contains atleast two independent clause.
- these two independent clause can be combined with comma,
semicolon, and coordinating conjunction.

Examples:
1.) He completed his assignments, so he can pass it tomorrow.

- contains atleast two independent clause and atleast two
dependent clause.

Examples:
1.) Although she completed her assignments, she still need to
review on her assignments.
2.) They completed the assignments for a minutes, as they were
so interesting.

Compound - Complex Sentence:
- contains atleast two independent clause and atleast one
dependent clause.

Examples:
1.) She organized her event, but she still need to review her
action, since this is a big event.
