INTRODUCTION
As we can see there are playgrounds and gardens in schools, colleges and
offices so machines are required to cut down the unnecessary grasses.
Because it is difficult to maintain with:
1. Manual scissors (difficult to operate, time consuming , labour cost more)
2. Engine powered lawn mower( fuel required , pollution is more)
3. Electronic grass cutter (expensive in nature)
Therefore this project is based on to find the optimum solution for this
problem.
OBJECTIVES
2. SPIRAL CUTTER:
• Manipulates the grass to be cut
by cutter blade or bed knife.
• Shearing action of mower is
there.
• Reel is supported by precision
bearings held within the slide
plates.
3. SPUR GEAR:
• Power transmission in high
velocity of gear.
• Consist of cylinder or disk
with the teeth projecting
radially.
4. BED KNIFE:
• Held rigidly on the bed bar.
• The contact between blade
reel and cutter blade
provides a shearing force
which cuts the grass.
CLIP
It is the forward distance travelled between successive blade
contacts at one shear point.
FACTORS AFFECTING CLIP:
The diameter of the reel.
The number of reel blades.
The speed of the reel.
The ground speed.
