QUALITY ASSURANCE (QA) MANUAL
The QA manual could be a special manual for QA auditors only, it could be part of the
inspection manual, or it could be a separate chapter in the TPPM as desired. The QA
manual defines the duties and responsibilities of the QA organization and defines the
processes and procedures used in the annual quality assurance audits conducted on the
M&E units, suppliers, and outside contractors. Forms used and reports are also covered
along with the procedures for follow-up and enforcement of QA write-ups.
The QA Process
Quality Assurance (QA) is a systematic process that ensures product and
service excellence. The agile QA process begins at the inception of the
software development life cycle. From the initial design meeting, through the
development phase, to final testing and hardening of the application.
Quality Assurance should consider:
● Organizational Compliance Management
● Conformance to applicable State Regulations
● Conformance to applicable Operational Requirements
● Conformance to Company’s own policy and procedures
● Ensuring that process are designed to deliver aviation services to meet
customers’/clients’ requirements.
● Compliance Audits as tools
QUALITY CONTROL
The Quality Control System has the procedures to ensure that all of the
maintenance works are compliance with all procedures outlined in this GMM in
order to keep the aircraft has airworthiness. The procedure will be conducting
and monitoring all of maintenance works
Main objectives of Quality Control
● To discover flaws or variations in the raw materials and the manufacturing
processes in order to ensure smooth and uninterrupted production.

● To evaluate the methods and processes of production and suggest further

improvements in their functioning.
Quality Control should include:
● Process Checklists
● Process Standards
● Process Documentation
● Project Audit
● Inspection
● Deliverable
● Peer Reviews
● Testing Process
Types of Quality Control
● Pre-Production Inspection (PPI)
● During Production Inspection (DPI)
● Pre-shipment inspection (PSI)
● Container loading/loading supervision (LS)
● Piece-by-piece Inspections.
What comes first? QA or QC?
Quality assurance is a proactive process which starts even before the work on
the deliverable has started, while quality control is a reactive process and its
activity starts as soon as you start working on the deliverable.
Difference of Quality Assurance and Quality Control
Quality Assurance is aimed to avoid the defect whereas Quality control is aimed
to identify and fix the defects. Quality Assurance provides assurance that quality
requested will be achieved whereas Quality Control is a procedure that focuses
on fulfilling the quality requested and that is within the standard that should be
maintained.
