Data Administrator
 The Data Administrator is responsible for defining data
elements, data names and their relationship with the database
analyst.
 They are responsible of how to install and configure the
RDBMS applications and also they have to know the
requirements of the software application in terms of functions
and assure the data integrity.
 They are also known as Data Analyst.
Functions of the Data Administrator (DA)

Following are some basic functions of a Data Administrator:


 Specification of organization data
 The design and maintenance of data management application.
 Validating the data and files.
 Security of files or databases.
Database Administrator
■ In a database system, the primary resource is the database itself and secondary resource is
the DBMS and related software.
■ Administering these resources and overall security of the database system is the
responsibility of the DBA.
■ The DBA is also responsible for designing, coordinating and monitoring the database
system.
■ The DBA is an IT professional
■ The DBA is the central authority for managing a database system.
■ The DBA is also responsible for creating users and authorizing access to them. The DBA has
an account in the DBMS, sometimes called a system or super-user account.
