FACE MASKS AND HAND SANITISERS
A. Go to the internet and find out about the three
types of masks.
Make short notes about them in the slides below.
1.What is a three layered cloth mask?
It is either homemade or storebought masks that are made out of
cotton and worn over the mouth and nose.

5.What is a N95 Protection Mask?
A N95 respirator is a respiratory protective device designed to
achieve a very close facial fit and very efficient filtration of airborne
particles.

6. What is the N95 Protection mask made of?


multiple layers of nonwoven fabric, often made from polypropylene. The
two outward protective layers of fabric, covering the inside and outside of
the mask, are created using spun bonding. Spun bonding uses nozzles
blowing melted threads of a thermoplastic polymer (often polypropylene)
to layer threads between 15-35 micrometers on a conveyor belt, which
build up into cloth as the belt continues down the line. Fibers are then
bonded using thermal, mechanical, or chemical techniques.The two outer
layer soft here spirator,between 20 and 50g/m2 in density,act as
protection against the outside environment as well as a barrier to
anything in the wearer’s exhalations.

• What is a hand sanitiser?
Hand sanitizer is a liquid, gel or foam generally used to kill the
vast majority of viruses/bacteria/microorganisms on the hands.
• What is a sanitiser used for?
Disinfectants kill bacteria and viruses, and should be used on a
visibly clean surface.
• What is hand sanitiser made from?
either ethyl alcohol or isopropyl alcohol
• When do you use hand sanitiser?
when there is no soap and water around you
• What is a hand sanitiser spray?
type of antimicrobial agent that kill or permanently inactivate at
least 99.9 percent of microorganisms when used on the hands

C. Discuss which face mask is the safest for you
to use. Complete the sentences to express your
opinions.
In my opinion, the best mask to use is the N95
Mask. I would choose this type of mask because
it protect against at least 95 pct of microscopic
airborne particles. Besides that, this mask is also
good because they are evaluated, tested and
approved by NIOSH
C. Discuss which face mask is not a safe mask to
use.

I think it is not safe to use the cloth mask
because it does not ensure protection against
microscopic airborne particles. Besides that, this
mask is also not a good choice because it is not
recommended.
