COLLISION

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES:
1. Identify types of collision
2. Differentiate elastic collision from inelastic and perfectly
inelastic collision
3. Relate elastic and inelastic collision in our daily life
situation/activities.

1. What happened to the 2 cars? 2. What happened to the 2 cars after colliding with each other?
COLLISION:
Collision is an interaction between two or more bodies that come in contact with each
other.
 Types of Collision:
Elastic collision- encounter between two bodies in which the total kinetic energy
does not change and the colliding object bounce off after collision.
Inelastic collision- encounter between two bodies in which the total kinetic energy of
the system changes. Objects that stick together after collision is said to be perfectly
inelastic.
