Lesson 9- Nihongo

The use of GA and WA


• Ga is used to emphasize the subject.Wa is used to
emphasize predicate.
• Examples: Watakushi wa sono hon wo kaimasu.( I
will buy that book.)
• Ha ga itaku nai desu.( My toothpaste is no more.)
• Exercises:
• 1. Kore wa atama desu.( This is my hat.)
• 2.Dare ga ikimasu ka.( Who is going?)
• 3.Sore wa hana desu.( Those are flowers.)
A.Imperative Sentences:
Commands and request:
The use of nazai expresses by command.Kudasai with
dozo used for request.
Examples:
1.Oide kudasai.( Please come here.)
2.Dozo ,tabe nasai.( Please eat.)
3.Shinbun o kashite kudasai.( Kindly put some sugar in
the coffee.)
• Adverb of time and days:
• Day before yesterday- ototoi
• Yesterday- kinoo
• Today- kyoo
• Tomorrow-ashita
• Day after tomorrow- asatte
• ( WEEKS)
• senshuu- last week
• Konshuu- this week
• Raigetsu- next week.
• (MONTHS)
• Sen getsu- last month
• Kon getsu- this month
• Tai getsu- next month
• (YEAR);
• Kyonen- last year
• Kotoshi- this year
• Rai nen- next year
A.Practice dialogue:
A.Nani o shimasu ka?( What are you doing?)
B. Shigoto o shite imasu.( I’m working)
2. A.Anata wa nani o tabermasu ka?( What are you
eating?)
B. Watasi wa gohan o tabete imasu.( I’m eating rice.
• 3.A .Doko e ikimasu ka?( where are you
going?)
• B. Manira e itte imasu.( I’m going to Manila.)
• 4.A.Ima nani o yomimasu ka?( What are you
reading now?)
• B. Ima Nohongo no hon o yonde imasu.( I’m
reading a Japanese book now.)
