Innovation Focus during COVID-19 Pandemic:

SARS-CoV-2 remains a threat everywhere. No one knows if there is a good “balancing

point” – just enough social distancing to avoid “hotspots” and at the same time, enough
openness to begin the process of economic recovery.

Many national and local authorities have relaxed some restrictions, and we are beginning to
see worrisome news that this does create a risk of renewed transmission. For now, we will
“learn as we go,” stay vigilant, and do our part to protect ourselves and others, wherever we
live and work. As always, we are closely monitoring the evolving situation and will keep
you updated.

Focus on our priorities: to protect the health and safety of our employees and their families,
to maintain the availability of our essential medicines and vaccines for the patients and
customers who need them, and to employ our scientific capabilities to help find solutions to
coronavirus disease.
