Summary
Overview
The type of products to be manufactured and
marketed, the marketing strategies to be
employed, the way the business should be
organised and governed, the values and norms it
should adhere to, are all influenced by the social
structure and the culture of a society. The social
system, on the other hand, is influenced by the
way the business functions.
Overview
The organisation of the business, the way the
business functions, innovations, transmission and
diffusion of information and new ideas, etc., may
affect society. Business activities greatly influence
social attitudes,values, outlooks, customs, etc.
However, it is very difficult and, in some case,
almost impossible, to change many elements of
the social environment in the short run. Hence, a
business may have to adapt to these
uncontrollable external environments.
