Market Motivation: After implementation of Teamcenter, Lockheed Martin

Aeronautics had reduced their cycle time by 35% during the production of F-
35 saving billions of dollar (2006).
Industrial Motivation: Most of the aerospace industry still don’t implement
configuration management, so implementation of it may expedite the
industrial process
 Knowledge Motivation: During execution of the project, students learn
Teamcenter (Siemens), workflow, SAP, DIN, ISO, ASME Standards, ECN release
process and Teamcenter Architecture.

Burgess et .al performed a review on the implementation of CM in
aerospace industries in European union showing the lacuna in terms of
implementation of CM practices and analysed it using Likert Chart and
chi-square analysis. He showed most of the top tier companies have
proper idea about the details of CM and low tier companies are merely
treating it as compliance.
This paper gave a overview of the status
of CM in the industries. And also
suggested what sort of questionnaire can
be utilised to perform CM in industry.
