Application
• Go to Navigate  Administer  Application Library

• Click File  New  Application

• Application Information :
– Application Name
– Type : Consolidation (for HFM)
– Description
– Create blank application (If dimensions from dimension library)
– Auto create local dimension (for auto create dimension)
• If the creation of application is blank application, go to Dimension library
to add the Application properties and Dimension inside

Dimension library
• There are three separate sections that show in
dimension library tab (from left to right)
• 1st section : Shared Library Dimension
• 2nd section : Application Dimension
• 3rd section : Properties of Member Dimension

Validate Application
After all the changes have been made to Dimension Library, it is required to
deploy application to activate the changes to application. But before deploy, it is
recommended to validate the application before
• Go to Navigate  Administer  Application Library

• Right click on the application name  Validate  Application (V)

• A new window will be shown. Click on the link button to see the log

• See the status whether it’s completed or not and make sure on detail, the
validation completed with 0 warnings and 0 errors

Deploy Application
• Go to Navigate  Administer  Application Library

• Check on Summary the status of application. When the status is ‘Out of sync with
deployment’, it means the application needs to be deployed

• Right click on the application name  Deploy  Application (V)

• A new window will be shown. Click on deploy

• Note: Remember NOT to tick on “Clear All Metadata and Data”. This option will clear all
journals and data

• See the status and make sure on detail, the deployment completed successfully

Security Class
• Security for Accounts, Entities, Scenarios and ICP
• Set by :
1. Create security class dimension and members
2. Tag security class members to Accounts, Entities, Scenarios
and ICP
3. Go to Shared Services and give access to certain user(s) to
the security class member

Ownership
• Use for consolidation process

• PCON : Percentage of Consolidation

• POWN : Percentage of Ownership
• PMIN : Percentage of Minority (values that are not
consolidate to parent)
• PMIN = PCON – POWN

• Active : Entity’s values will roll up to its parent

• Inactive : Entity’s value won’t roll up to its parent

How to Input Ownership Percentage
– Click on: Consolidation  Data  Manage Ownership

– Change POV based scenario, year and period

Process Control
• Main process :
1. Start Process  users won’t be able to input or load any
data if process isn’t start
2. After input/load data, calculate, translate and consolidate
3. Check validation accounts  used to check validation (ex :
BS must balance)
4. Submit / Approve / Publish data
5. Lock Data  users won’t be able to change data already at
this state

– Click on: Consolidation  Journals  Manage
– Create New Journal:
• “Create new” button “Journal” to create standard journal
• “Create new” button ”Journal Template” to create journal from templates
– Journal Editor window will be opened

• GENERATE ICP REPORT
– Click on: Consolidation  Intercompany  Reports
– Click on: the new button  Reports  Intercompany

– Description:
– Report Name: Fill in Intercompany Report Name
– Description: Fill in Intercompany Report Description

• For Options member:
• Mode :
– Accumulate: For each unique point of view that exists in the load data and in the application, the value
from the load data is added to the value in the application.
– Merge: For each unique point of view that exists in the load data and in the
application, the load data overwrites the data in the application. For each unique point of view that is in
the load data but not in the application, the load data is loaded into the application.
– Replace: For each unique point of view in the load data, the system clears
corresponding values from the application, and then the data is loaded
• Entity Currency Data : Copy <Entity Currency> value data

• Enable Detailed Logging: enable logging to provide information for troubleshooting
purposes

Rule Types
• Calculation  to perform calculations that cannot be calculated through the
natural order of the dimension hierarchies
• Translation  to perform calculations related to non-standard translations
• Consolidation  to perform non-standard consolidations, most commonly
found in statutory applications
• Allocation  allocate data from one entity to a list of entities
• Input  allow input at the Parent entity level
• NoInput  prevent input at the Base entity level, thus reserving the cells for
calculations
• Dynamic Calculation  enable to define formulas to dynamically calculate
accounts
• Transactions  specify the accounts in the application that support
intercompany transactions
• Equity Pick up  rules specify the owned entity, owner entity, and percentage
of ownership

Member List
• Member lists enable to specify a subset of members within a
dimension, and can reduce the time that is spend browsing member
hierarchies in data grids, data forms and calculation.
• For example, if Italy, France, and UK are used frequently in the point
of view for the Entity dimension, you can create a member list
named European region that includes the frequently used
members. You can then select members from the list, instead of
browsing through the hierarchy of the Entity dimension.

– Type: Choose format type. (Default: flat file)
– Extract Format: Choose to extract with or without header (Default: Without header)

– Extract Dynamic Accounts: Extract dynamic accounts data
– Calculated Data: Extract calculated data
– Derived Data: Extract derived data
– Cell Text: Extract cell text
– Phased Submission Group Data: Extract phased submission group data

Copy Application
• Copy application is use to copy data including
journals between application
• Before doing copy application, one must ensure that
copy EPM has been done by using LCM (Life Cycle
Management). This step is to copy the structure of
HFM application (forms, grids, reports etc.)
• After LCM, all HFM services must be stop including
HsvDataSource and HsxServer in Task Manager
