INTRODUCTION

 RFID stands for Radio Frequency Identification.


 Radio Frequency Identification is a system that transmits the
identity (in the form of a unique serial number) of an object
wirelessly, using radio waves.
 Evolving as a major technology enabler for tracking goods and
assets around the world.
 A great deal of attention is being paid to RFID by the Retail
industry, IT industry, media and analysts.
SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT
 It is the management of a network of interconnected
businesses involved in the ultimate provision of product
and service packages required by end customers.
RFID – THE FUNDAMENTALS

 Consist of three basic components:-


 Tag.
 Reader.
 Host Computer.

 Internal source of power.  No power of their own.


 Have longer range.  Small in size so got short range.
 Larger memory.  And smaller memory.
 Perform better in harsh  Can’t perform efficiently in
