 Rule 1. Functions of a Police Officer


Discuss in details the following:

•“To Serve and Protect” with accompanying examples.


• “To Observe Human Rights and Dignity of Person” with accompanying examples and basic law and
updates.

 Rule 2. Police Uniform, Attire and Accessories

• Agency Prescribed Uniform (Provide slides/pictures of every uniform presented)


• Appearing before the Public (Describe properly and with appropriateness the attire, according to
social exposure, including do’s and don’ts when wearing the uniform.
• Carrying of Police Notebooks, Pen and Miranda Warning Card (Explain with Demo)
• Carrying of Non-Lethal in the Police Rig (Discuss with examples, real or in LCD presentation; and
require a hands-on)

 Rule 3. Categories of Police Operations

Discuss the following with examples and current events in each categories:
• Public Safety Operations
• Law Enforcement Operations
• Internal Security Operations
• Special Police Operations
• Intelligence Operations
• Investigation Operations
• Scene of the Crime Operation (SOCO)
 APPLICATION

• Require individually the students to recite the functions of a police officer and afterwards, in unison.
• Pick at random from the students to perform the following:
• Identification of police uniform, attire and accessories;
• Wearing of uniform and appropriate accessories (if available)
• Require individually the students to recite “Miranda Doctrine.”
