Developing Hydrogen Gas from Unwanted

Organic Waste
Group 7 | NTT High School
Overview

• We realize that the world’s energy demand is increasing day by day along
with the expense and contamination caused by industrial energy nowadays

• Therefore, our project would make a basis for a solution to solve this
problem.
Contents

• Hydrogen gas

• Disadvantages and Advantages

• Anaerobic disgestion

• How Hydrogen gas is utiliatrian in daily life.

Hydrogen gas

Hydrogen gas  is  a  methane  rich  flammable  gas  that  results

from  the  decomposition of organic waste material
Hydrogen gas  is  produced  by  anaerobic digestion  or
fermentation  of  biodegradable  materials  such  as  biomass,
manure,  sewage,  municipal waste, green waste, plant
material and energy crops.
Hydrogen gas is a type of biogas.

Factors affecting yield and production of biogas

• Many factors affecting the fermentation process of
organic substances under anaerobic condition are:

 The quantity and nature of organic matter

 The temperature

 Acidity and alkalinity (PH value) of substrate

 The flow and dilution of material.
Advantages and Disadvantages

Advantages Disadvantages
• Production of free flowing thick sludge • Explosion chances

• Odorless sludge • High capital lost

• Sludge can be used as  fertilizer and  • Incorrect handling of liquid sludge cau
soil conditioner ses pollution

• Sanitary way for human and animal w • Requires control and maintenance
aste disposal
• Needs proper condition
• Conservation of scarce resources like
