▸ The thought of generating electricity basically started
from South Africa , where, a businessman felt the
necessity for a generation of electricity without
compromising on any resources. For this purpose, he
thought of a thought and also brought into existence, the
working model of this concept . His idea was to
get electricity using speed breakers. These speed
breakers use the concepts of physics to convert
the K.E. possessed by the vehicles running on the road
into electricity , eventually generating electricity. 
▸ This is often where the plot for energy generating speed
breakers was laid, later on, IIT Guwahati took over this
project to beat its limitations. the
sensible implementation of the electricity generating
speed breaker has been very less and therefore the results
of the few places where it's implemented remains not
known. Although, there are many surveys to support the
implementation of this concept .

Speed Bumps are normally used to slow down the
speed of vehicles. But generating electricity from
these is a new concept and need to be further
explored . There are various research paper
published on generation of electricity using speed
breakers , some uses spring load system , some uses
gear and pulley system and even PIEZOELECTRIC
material . But which one of the above is suited in
real world is a still a question that demands an
answer . These project explore on of the given ways
to harvest energy and to calculate whether it is a
viable and efficient way of doing so.
Project outcome
▸ We would be a able to conclude that Speed-
breaker power generator is a system that is
capable of using the kinetic energy of
vehicles and converting them into electrical
energy. In this work, a prototype will be
constructed and an experimental study will
be performed.
▸ By doing so we would be able to find out
how much energy can be generated by the
chosen method and will that be a efficient
way of dong so.
