ORIGIN
Basketball is a team
sport that was invented
by James Naismith in
1891 at the
international YMCA
Training school in
Springfield,
Massachusetts.
James Naismith is
a Canadian
Physical Educator
Instructor. And he
established the
game fairly
quickly and grew
very popular in the
20th century.
RULES AND REGULATION
The game
- Basketball game is played by 2 teams of 5 players each.
- The aim of each team is to score in the opponents' basket and to prevent the other
team from scoring. The game is controlled by the officials, table officials and a
commissioner, if present.
Basket: opponents'/own
- The basket that is attacked by a team is the opponents' basket and the basket
which is defended by a team is its own basket. .
Winner of a game
- The team that has scored the greater number of game points at the end of playing
time shall be the winner

LINES:
3 Point Line is the farthest place in the act of shooting, yet they
can get highest score in basketball. 3 point lines has An arc of
radius 6.75 m measured from the point on the floor beneath the
exact center of the opponents' basket to the outer edge of the arc.
The distance of the point on the floor from the inner edge of the
mid-point of the end line is 1.575 m. The arc is joined to the
parallel lines.
Center Line is also called midcourt line, the eight second
line.
VIOLATIONS IN BASKETBALL:
Travelling,
Double dribble,
Carrying the ball,
3 seconds,
5 seconds,
8 seconds,
24 shot clock violation,
Ball returned to the backcourt; and
Deliberate football.
