THE EARLY YEARS
James birthplace was in Plains, Georgia and was born on October
1, 1924.
His parents owned a peanut farm, a warehouse, and store outside of
Plains, Georgia. His mother was a trained nurse but abandoned her
career when she got pregnant. His mother named James after his
father. James was educated in the public school of Plains, also
attended Georgia Southwestern College and the Georgia Institute
of Technology and received a B.S. degree from the United States

ROAD TO PRESIDENCY!
Carter was motivated to oppose the political climate of racial
segregation and support the growing civil rights movement. He
became an activist within the Democratic Party. ... In the
general election, Carter ran as an outsider and narrowly
defeated incumbent Republican President Gerald Ford.

The years of the presidency


He established a national energy policy that included
conservation, price control, and new technology.  In
1978 Carter helped broker a historic peace treaty, known as the
Camp David Accords, between Israel and Egypt, two nations
that had been bitter enemies for decades. Upon taking office,
Carter reoriented U.S. foreign policy towards a new emphasis
on human rights, democratic values, nuclear non-proliferation,
and global poverty. Carter only ran 4 years in office.

2) Carter gave up his military career to save the family peanut
farm
3) Harry Truman was Carter’s favorite President. Carter
told The Guardian in 2011 that he admired Truman for not
trying to profit off his presidency.
