BUSINESS CHALLENGE
Without automation, managing changes in SAP jobs becomes
difficult and complex. Simple requests such as scripting and
testing needs to be performed by multiple teams before they
are ready for production.
Scheduling new jobs are also a challenge. Multiple parent-child
job dependencies must finish in sequence and SAP default
basic tools are unable to finish the job.
APPROACH
After careful evaluation, our customer awarded the BMC
Control-M for SAP to OSLO Consulting and our design improves
job workflow performance, usability and reduces operating
overhead with new deployment capabilities.

Moving beyond traditional workload automation and adapting to
modern IT technologies and processes, Control-M for SAP
automates scheduling and management for SAP S/4HANA and R/3
jobs and supports all applications in the SAP ecosystem.
The intuitive interface gives users access to view service and
job status, while schedulers retain control over scheduling and
execution through a graphical interface that shows SAP jobs

OUR CLIENT
One of a large Malaysian insurance company has now automated their daily
jobs as there is no need to login manually to each SAP application to
manage the jobs in each of their application. Only 1 graphical monitoring
view to monitor all the job flow. Security can be defined for access and
allow application access to specific application team.
JOB DEPENDENCY ISSUES
Using each (SILO) SAP scheduler and dependency is time based. Job
A is supposed to execute Job B when it is completed successfully.
Supposing the Job A scheduled to run earlier and e.g if it starts at a
particular set time and ends at a set time ONLY then Job B
(dependent job) gets executed in the application and gets
scheduled after. This is all managed and scheduled individually in
their own SAP application and also event triggers are need to be
coded separately to execute dependent jobs.
