PHYSICAL ACTIVITY VS.

EXERCISES
WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN
PHYSICAL ACTIVITY AND EXERCISES
PHYSICAL ACTIVITY
 is any form of body
movements that require
energy. It does not
necessarily mean it entails
doing exercises.
EXERCISES
is an activity that we set at a
specific time of the day or a
week to do. It is a more
structured form of activity
that aims to achieve physical
fitness.
The guidelines below will encourage
adolescents like you to start on a simple
exercise routine:

Do at least 60 minutes of moderate to

vigorous activities on most days of the
week to maintain a good weight for your
age and height.
Limit or lessen screen time on tv, mobile
phones, video, and computers. Teachers
and parents may encourage adolescents to
replace it with sports.
TYPES OF PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES

Aerobic activities enhance
your heart and blood
vessels to function better,
as well as making your
lungs stronger.
TYPES OF PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES
Activities that
enhance flexibility like
stretching and yoga will
help you develop an
excellent range of
movement in the joints.
TYPES OF PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES

Muscle-strengthening
activities boost your body’s
strength and power.
TYPES OF PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES

The following activities may work on the

different parts of your body like the legs,
arms, hips, chest, stomach, and the back:
digging and shoveling
lifting heavy objects
hiking up a hill
pushing and pulling objects
TYPES OF EXERCISES

Aerobic Exercises. These

exercises speed up the
heart rate and breathing of
an individual.
TYPES OF EXERCISES
Strength Training. Daily tasks
like carrying heavy grocery
bags, shoveling, and
gardening, or just lifting heavy
objects require you to have a
regular strength training.
TYPES OF EXERCISES
Stretching. This specific type of
exercise helps maintain flexibility,
especially as anybody grows older.
Aging leads to a loss of flexibility in
the muscles, muscles get shorter
and do not function correctly.
TYPES OF EXERCISES
Balance Exercises. Improved balance
helps prevent falls and makes an
individual feel more secure. And
developing an excellent balance can
help prevent the deterioration of our
leg muscles, joints, inner ear, and our
vision.
