The document summarizes a final year engineering project on the design of a frequency synthesizer. The project is being undertaken by 4 students - Yash Kudale, Atharva Kulkarni, Rahul Gupta, and Parth Raul - under the guidance of Prof. Ashish Shekhar. The topic of the project is to design a frequency synthesizer, which is an electronic circuit that generates multiple frequencies from a single reference frequency. The document outlines applications of frequency synthesizers in wireless communication, RF development, radar communication, and satellite communications.

Block diagram Applications Wireless communciation PLL frequency synthesizers are flexible to use and to be controlled by the digital elements. In addition they offer many advantages over local oscillator for applications in radio communication. • RF development These synthesizer technology is now part of RF development and equipment. Synthesizers enable the flexible operation of high performance oscillators used in variety of applications such as radio recievers and transmitters of all sort of highly stable signal generators. RADAR Communication The radar synthesizers often have more noise and accurate signal requirements as they use timing reference between the transmitted and received signals. These are also used in satellite communications to generated various frequencies for up and down conversion at the payload and thus matches power with high reference signal and low one.
