Definition
• Congratulation is an expression used to
give appreciation to someone for their
achievements and happiness. In
congratulating, people may make more
than one move.
• Compliment is an expression to
appreciate or praise other people.
Purpose
• The social purpose of congratulating is
to express our happiness of someone’s
achievements. In order to keep good
personal relationship with them.

• The social purpose of complimenting is


to give encouragement so that people
will keep on doing their best and even
improve their performance.
When to express compliment:
• On daily basis,
• When someone has done his/her best,
• When you visit someone’s house for the first time,
• If you notice something new about someone’s appearance.

discussed is interpersonal text about congratulating and
complimenting in chapter 2

Why in delivering material directly to


chapter 2 not from chapter 1?

Because in the material contained in chapter 1 is about


introduction self. Where in the beginning of the meeting
during learning has been conveyed and do not need to be
discussed again, so that straight to chapter 2.
Is the material in the textbook appropriate or
not for use in grade 10?

Based on material and content in textbook it is


appropriate for use in grade 10 because the material is
more detailed, has a lot of discussion and also more
interactive in teaching-learning process. The material it
has also transactional it means in congratulating and
complimenting there is conversation in the text both from
the material, example and also assignment, so that it
makes students more active in the learning process and
the material can be increase speaking skill for students.
Wheter textbook is used to grade
10 is included in the curriculum
2013?

Yes because in the curriculum 2013


student centre that is involving student
must play an active role in the learning
process and in the textbook material,
example and assignment also shows that
student more active.
