What is CMAM
• A model that takes treatment of malnutrition into the community
• The strategy aims at reducing mortality and morbidity related to
acute malnutrition through timely detection, treatment and
prevention of acute malnutrition among the target groups:
• Children under-five years
• Pregnant and lactating women with infants less than 6months
• Other Vulnerable groups (people infected with /similar complications and
the older persons

• CMAM focuses on the integration of the management of acute


malnutrition into the routine primary health care services at all
levels of the health care system
