Cyclic Quadrilateral

Properties of Cyclic quadrilateral

A cyclic quadrilateral is a quadrilateral with all vertices lying on the circumference of a circle.
Theorem 4.17 : Opposite Angles of Cyclic quadrilateral
Theorem

•
The opposite angles of a cyclic quadrilateral are supplementary.

That is,
Example1: In the figure , ABCD is a cyclic quadrilateral. AB is a

diameter of the circle with the center at O. If and Angle ABD = 44⁰.
Theorem 4.18 : Exterior Angle of Cyclic quadrilateral
Theorem

•
For a cyclic quadrilateral, an exterior angle is equal to its
interior opposite angle
That is,
Example2: In the figure , O is the center of the circle and EAB is a
straight line . If Angle BOC = 130⁰ , find Angle EAC.
Concyclic Points
Points lying on the circumference of
a circle are concyclic points.
