Background

The writer choose this topic because she find


the students that can not read better word by
word in English text. Most students don't like r
eading, so they are lazy to practice. But the au
thor thinks if learning to read song lyrics while
singing and listening to how the word is spoke
n by the singer in the song, the learning will be
more fun.

According to Mutiara, at al (2018: 1) Reading
as one of the English language skill that very
significant in supporting people’s way of thin
king and as the interactive process between
a reader and the text.
Farhati (2011:20) states "A song consists of ly
rics. Meanwhile, a song lyric can be used as a
nother way for people to communicate to th
e others, to the young people, or to old peop
le and vice versa."
