How do you write a cover letter?

Cover letters follow a very specific format. Once you

understand the format, writing a cover letter is relatively
simple. A cover letter has three main sections, each of
which can simply be its own paragraph.

The first section introduces yourself, identifies the job

you’re applying for, and explains how you found out
about the position. The Cover Letter needs to state
student is seeking a Co-op or experiential learning
experience. The Co-op’s time frame i.e. beginning of May
2020 – end of August 2020 in the contents of the first
paragraph. You could also state just the month your 4
month Co-op would begin.

 Thesecond section outlines your inspiration for doing this
work and your reasons for growing in this field. Promote
your training, skills, knowledge. What makes you a good
candidate or beneficial fit. This is where you can market
yourself with words. If you’re passionate about your field
you should explain it, demonstrate it in words, and describe
how these will relate to the job you’re applying for.

 Thethird section Thanks the reader for their time and

requests an interview by phone or in person.
