About Arunachal Pradesh and it`s people


Arunachal Pradesh is a Sanskrit word meaning Land of Dawn – lit
mountains.

It was formed on 28th February 1987.

The capital of Arunachal Pradesh is Itanagar.

The Governor of Arunachal Pradesh is Dr B D Mishra. [Since


September 2017]

The Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh is Pamu Khandu Thungan.


[Since July 2016]

The  famous festivals of Arunachal Pradesh are Loser, Si-Donyi, Reh,


Mopin and Solang.

The mager dance and music forms are Lion, Peacock, Ponung, Roppi,
Wancho dance.

The languages of this state that are spoken are Miki, Aka, Hill Miri,
Adi, Apatano, Sherdukpen.

with Bhutan in the west,
Myanmar in the east, and a
disputed border with China in
the north at the McMahon

                                                     1. Tawang
Tawang is a high altitude town located in the lap of the mighty Himalayas which offers a perfect blend
of nature and culture. Since the town boasts an elevation of 10,000 feet, it is a paradise for any
mountain lover looking for high altitude places to visit Arunachal Pradesh. 
The picturesque town is replete with numerous tourist attractions like vibrant Buddhist monasteries,
high altitude passes, war memorial and scenic lakes which make it an enticing holiday destination. 
Among the most important tourist attractions, Tawang proudly cradles are the largest monastery in
India and Tawang War Memorial built to commemorate the martyrdom of soldiers who laid down
their lives in Sino-Indian war.

2. Pela pass

Sela Pass is a mountain pass which enjoys an elevation of 13,700 feet. Snow covers this pass all
year round and it remains open for the tourists during all seasons. This pass is considered
sacred by Buddhists, and it is believed that there are 101 lakes around it. 
The fame of the pass is also attributed to the divine high altitude Sela Lake or often known as
the Paradise Lake that adds grace to the picturesqueness of the place. Sela Lake freezes during
the winter which makes this lake dreamlike. 
During the ride through this pass you will get the glimpse of the mighty snow-clad Eastern
Himalayas and this ride will surely leave you spellbound. Sela Pass, without a doubt, is one of
the best tourist places in Arunachal Pradesh.

tezu

One of the most significant places to visit in Arunachal Pradesh, Tezu is a hotspot for
tourism in the state. Located amidst the scenic Mishmi Hills, this town has a lot on offer
for tourists that includes wildlife sanctuary, museum, botanical garden, and quaint
villages. 
However, the most popular attraction here remains the photogenic Glow Lake sitting
against the backdrop of snow-capped mountains, giving you a reason to stare at it in
disbelief. The headquarters of Lohit District, this town offers a dual experience of nature
and culture simultaneously, making you feel the essence of Arunachal Pradesh. Tezu is
easily one of the best places to visit in Arunachal Pradesh.

roing

According to the Adi Word, Roing means cool and refreshing. True to its name, this town is set
beside the Dibang River which adds beauty as well as a calmness to the aura of the place as it
flows by it. Roing is a treasure trove for cultural enthusiasts, trekkers, and history buffs. Roing
has a glorious history and archaeological sites that will render you curious.

You can also trek to some places to catch a colourful sunset or visit the lake to enjoy the boating
in the middle of the lush forest and appreciate the natural grandeur. Mayudia, Bhismaknagar
Fort, Mehao Wildlife Sanctuary, Mehao Lake, Sally Lake, Nijomaghat, Rukmini Nati, etc. are
some of the places you should not miss when you visit this exciting place.

Bomdila

Away from the chaos of the city, Bomdila is a remote quaint town which
gives you a glimpse of the unique culture and tradition. Enjoy the natural
splendour of this town set amidst the snow-laden hills and vibrant
landscape, lush green valley and apple orchards. 
Some of the places to visit here are Bomdila Monastery, Sissa Orchid
Sanctuary, Gompas, Eaglenest Wildlife Sanctuary, Bomdila View Point
and much more. Bomdila gives you an opportunity to explore the
wildlife, culture and tradition and the beauty of nature at a single place.
It is truly one of the best places to visit in Arunachal Pradesh.

pasighat

 Pasighat also known as “Gateway of Arunachal” is located along the Siang River
Valleys and the Himalayas. It is the oldest town of Arunachal Pradesh founded in
1911 and makes for a perfect destination to explore the tradition and culture of the
people living here. 
You can also enjoy rafting, fishing, angling, boating, wildlife safari, nature
photography as well as trekking here. Daying Ering Wildlife Sanctuary, Kekar
Monying, Pangin, Pasighat Buddhist Temple, Bodak Scenic Area etc. are the places
that will make your visit to this town unforgettable.
