SAFETY & ACCIDENT PREVENTION

What is Accident?
• Self-negligence: technical, physical, biological,
psychosocial, and chemical
• Can happen anywhere
• Avoidance from accidents should be taken
care twenty-four-seven: self and other people

Safety Committee Job Scope
a) Prepare thoroughly examination and report
unsafe conditions
b) Study on the causes of accident
c) Make continuous observation
d) Create continuous effort to ensure the safety and
precautionary procedures has been taken care off
e) Attend meetings and conferences related to
safety precautionary action

Safety Precautionary Action
• Monitored by experts who specialized in tools, machines, and
fire safety equipment
• Safety committee examines the safety of the environment and
minor issues
• Regular safety inspections are necessary because the working
conditions are constantly changing from time to time
• Big unit should be divided into smaller units (organization,
team arrangement)
• Record of monitory equipment must be regularly updated

Factors Contribute to Accidents
a) The workplace cramped, disorganized and dirty.
b) Construction area and machine not in appropriate
place
c) The equipment in use is too old and malfunction
d) Workers exposed to things easily darted, burns
e) Insufficient light, overheating and too cold
f) Gas leakage

Report
a) There shall be written by committee and must be
reviewed by other committee inspection group.
b) Made in multiple copies, one copy is sent to the safety
committee for review and storage, another saved by
the Committee and the workplace supervisor
c) A copy of the supervisor containing proposals for
action.
d) Made with complete and understandable.
e) A review shall be named or numbered correctly.

Accident Investigation
is figuring out how similar accidents can be prevented at future
times. Evidences required in connection with an accident include:
a)Was it man-made?
b) How does it hurt?
c)Reasons given by workers?
d)What are the conditions of whether the machines are not properly
operational.
e)Are there any preventive actions being made to avoid the
accidents?
f)Gather information, committee shall go to the place of incident and
ask the injured worker etc.
