To persuade /to convince the readers
or the listeners about some issues
provided with facts, statistics,
reasons, examples
Text Stucture
1. Thesis
• At this part, the writer must tell the readers about the main topic of the text. The readers will find the
thesis on the first paragraph. Beside that, will know why the writer write his/her opinion on the topic
.
2. Arguments
• At this part, the readers will find some arguments . The writer will tell about his supports arguments
on the main topic that he convey. On the analytical exposition text, the readers will get more than
one arguments . When the writers give more arguments, it will make the readers more belive that
the topic which discussed is the importan topic/ need to be concerned

3. Reiteration/Conclusion
• The readers will find this part of the text at the last paragraph. Reiteration consist of reinforcement
on the writer’s opinion on the main topic
Language Features
1. Simple Present
( books are crucial in developing the mind, books do not only educate but also entertain
2. Words that express writer’s feeling or idea (experience, feel, know, realize, sense, think, etc)
3. Conjuction
• Menggunakan internal conjunction yaitu kata penghubung yang menghubungkan argumen
di antara dua klausula. Internal conjunctions dapat dibagi menjadi empat kategori, yaitu
(1) addition (penambahan) Contohnya besides, in addition, further.
(2) Comparisons (perbandingan), seperti but, meanwhile, on the other hand.
(3) Time (waktu), misalnya kata second, then, then, next. (4) Cause-effect (akibat). Contoh
katanya antara lain consequence, as a result, so, the result.
• Menggunakan causal conjunctions (reason–why) atau sebab-akibat. Misalnya kata as a
result, because, by, consequently, despite, due to, for that reason, dll.
 Analyze of The Text
Do you know if you are too fat, you may have serious problems with your
health? A group of doctors wrote a report about some of the effects of too much
fat (Thesis )
One important effect is in heart, if you are fat, your heart has to work harder.
This may lead to heart attack or it may lead to other heart problem. ( Argument)
In addition, extra fat can also change the amount of sugar in your blood. This
can cause serious disease such as diabetes. ( Argument)
Further more, high blood pressure is another result of being fat. ( Arguments)
More studies are needed about all these problems but one thing is clear, extra
fat may make your life shorter. (Reiteration)
 The Importance of Breakfast
Why is breakfast important? “ I think Breakfast likes a King, Lunch like a Prince and Dine like a Pauper”
It’s a well known phrase, but do you follow it? (THESIS)
Breakfast provides many benefits to our health and wellbeing. Breakfast provides the body and brain
with fuel after an overnight fast – that’s where its name originates, breaking the fast! Without breakfast
you are effectively running on empty, like trying to start the car with no petrol!(ARGUMENT)
Breakfast support cognitive function. Breakfast also restores glucose levels, an essential carbohydrate
that is needed for the brain to function. Breakfast provides energy, studies have shown how eating
breakfast can improve memory and concentration level beside that, it can also make us happier as it can
improve mood and lower stress levels.(ARGUMENT)
Further more breakfast provides energy needs. People’s energy needs vary depending on activity levels
and life stage but typically men require more energy than women. Growing children require a lot of energy,
as an example boys aged 7-10 years should consume approximately 1970 kcals per day, and girls aged 7-10
years should consume approximately 1740 kcals. (ARGUMENT)
Based on the arguments above, I realize that breakfast is really important for us ( REITERATION)
