ALAN TURING

Born: 23 June 1912 in Maida Vale, London, England.
Died: 7 June 1954 (aged 41) in Wilmslow, Cheshire, England.

He was computer scientist, mathematician, logician, cryptanalyst


and theoretical biologist.

• He was higly influential in the
development of theoretical
computer science with the
TOURING MACHINE.
• Turing in widely considered
to be the father of theoretical
computer science and
artificial intelligence.
• After the Second World War,
Turing designed the first ACE
(Automatic Computer Engine).
ALAN TURING
• In 1952 Turing was prosecuted for
homosexual acts. He accepted
chemical castration treatment.
Turing died in 1954 from cyanide
poisoning. An inquest determined
his death as suicide.
• In his memory Steve Jobs créate
the Apple Logo
