INTRODUCTION

 HAWTHORN SUITES BY WYNDHAM is amenity-rich resort near Dwarkadhish Temple and


Dwarka Beach. It stays in the heart of this fascinating ancient city at Hawthorn Suites by
Wyndham Dwarka. Their contemporary, eco-spiritual resort is minutes from Dwarkadhish
Temple, Dwarka Beach, and Gomti Ghat. Soak up the sun on Bechtel Beach or take in the views
and wildlife at Charkala Bird Sanctuary. They are also perfectly positioned to explore the
Pilgrimage Site. Back at their sprawling, non-smoking hotel, enjoy luxurious accommodations, a
spa, outdoor pool, yoga and meditation center, and vegetarian restaurant. They also offer ample
event space for gatherings of any kind.

 It is owned by chain of hotels of Wyndham hotels & resorts which was founded in 1983 &
managed by Nile Industries.

 This property was opened in April 2020 ,spread across 15 acres with 108 spacious
guestrooms.Wellness area with seperate spa, gym and yoga centre. Largest pool in Dwarka for
children and adults. Vegetarian Multi-cuisine restaurant with specially curated menu aimed at
wellness.

 The Linen room is the center section
all linen from here sufficient clean
article in good condition are
distributed throughout the
establishment.

ACTIVITIES OF LINEN ROOM :-


 Collection of soil linens.
 Counting and sorting of the soiled linens.
 Packing of the soiled linens for the laundry.
 Dispatch of soiled linens to the laundry.
 Receipt of fresh linen from the laundry.
 Checking and sorting of the fresh linens.
 Storage of the fresh linens.
 Distribution of fresh linens to the floor and others areas.
 Stoking of for linen maintenance of records.
 Stitching monogramming of all the hotel uniforms.
 Uniform selection.
 Uniform storage and issue.
UNIFORM ROOM
 The main work of uniform room is to
provide neat and clean uniform to the
staff.

 The employees of uniform room collects


the dresses from the laundry and then store
uniforms according to the departments.

 Inventory of uniforms is done at every end


of the month.

 Each uniforms bears its own employee code and designation.

 Storage areas should have proper ventilation and should not be humid.

 Storage areas should be free from all kind of pests.


LAUNDRY
 The hotel has its own laundry .

 Soiled linen is collected from chute room


by the employees.

 Sorting of linen is done by the employees according to


the size, colour, quality, etc.

 Washing of linen and towels is done in the laundry.

 Dry cleaning of expensive linen and guest clothes is also the work of
laundry.

 There is a supervisor in the laundry who takes care of all records.

 Folding and pressing of linen is done in the laundry.


HOUSEKEEPING CONTROL DESK
 The housekeeping control desk is the
nerve center of entire department and its
efficiency determines the smooth operation
and effectiveness of the housekeeping.

 Control desk receives call against


maintenance and any requirement of guests.

 Control desk staff allots duties of other


staff and write down their allocation with name.

 Control desk updates the room status and maintain the proper record
of lost and found.

 The location of control desk is near the executive housekeeper’s office.

 The control desk works for 24 hours a day.

 The control desk informs the staff regarding requests of guests ,if any.
LOST AND FOUND
 An item left by guest either in guest room
or public area, identified by any staff and
brought under the notice of housekeeping
is termed as “Lost and Found”.

 All items received to be recorded in lost and found register.

 Items should be put in plastic bag noting the serial from the register,
place found, name of the person who found, etc.

 The lost item must be secured in locked closet or area that has highly
restricted access.

 If a guest claims he must sign with a receipt with his identification , any
id proof or passport copy.

 When there is no response received by the guest for lost item , then the
lost article is given to the staff who found it.
