Introduction
 The master plan has been prepared by the
B.D.A., works department.

 Multi-storey residential building in k-9A, k-

9B, Subhidibur at BBSR

 Approximately 2 acres accommodating 3

buildings
FOUNDATION
 Supports the structure
 Helps in distribution of load intensity
 Provides safety against undermining
 Provides a level surface
 Provides lateral stability
 Prevents cracks in the super structure
 Provides Structural strength to the structure
TYPES OF FOUNDATION
 Shallow Foundation:
A shallow foundation is one whose width is
greater than its depth (i.e. Df/B≤1).

 Deep foundation:
A deep foundation is one whose depth is
greater than its width (i.e. B/Df≤1).
Shallow Foundation vs Deep Foundation
Shallow Foundation Deep Foundation

 Strip footing - Pile foundation

 Spread or isolated footing - Pier foundation
 Combined footing - Well foundation
 Strap or cantilever footing
 Mat or raft foundation
Overall idea of project:
 This is a multi stored building having B+S+12
floors.
 This project is for the economically weaker section
(EWS) in Subudhipur.
 The number of dwelling in the project is 342.
 This project contains only 2BHK&3BHK flats.
 In this project it contains-
• 416-2BHK
• 288-3BHK
• This project is made of pre cast concrete.
DIFFERENT TYPES OF TESTS DONE BEFORE DOING
PROJECT

 Test on brick
 Test on cement
 Slump cone test
 Compressive strength
Salient Features of the Project
 External walls as 150mm thick pre cast concrete
load bearing walls.
 Use of pre cast concrete technology for
decreasing material and labour cost.
 Due to use of precast concrete wall the floor area
of the apartments will be more.
 Internal walls as 125 or 100mm thick precast
panels provided with pre cast concrete tie beams
at the floor level.
 A natural gradient of around 800mm in the
natural ground level.
 The building blocks are positioned with the length
of the building on the North-South direction.
 Mechanized Sewerage Treatment System with
capacity 500KLD .
 Open space for free ventilation and lighting.
 2400 Sq.Mt space Free for 1600 two wheeler
parking space.
 Rain water harvesting structure for ground water
recharge Internal Concrete pavement.
