Cultural Amalgamation Event: Atithi

Atithi Mulakathi

• Welcoming the guests by “Atithi Devo Bhava” pooja and giving them turbans,
pheta and other traditional clothing items from various parts of India.
• Starting the event with a message from our director or any other faculty if
possible and then brief introduction about Indian Culture, followed by
Madhya Pradesh & Indore specific culture.
• Folk dances, Indian dramas based on Mahabharat and Ramayan.
• Celebrating the culture of international students by hosting culture specific
events for dramas, music, etc.
• Fun quizzes about the Indian culture and top 3 exchange students get a price
in form of vouchers or any Indian item like pottery, pendant, etc. if possible.
Atithi Mulakathi

• Traditional Indian food (Thali from any region, preferably from


Indore, M.P.) for lunch/dinner.
• Encouraging the exchange students to participate in the form of
Garba dance or any other folk dance.
• Concluding the event with a heartwarming welcome to IIM Indore
message from the Student Exchange Committee and Faculty.
