What is Front
Office
Department?
 It is the one of the many
departments of the hotel
business which directly
interacts with the customers
when they first arrive at the
hotel. The staff of this
department is very visible to
the guests.
Front office staff handles
the transactions between
the hotel and its guests. The
staff receives the guests,
handles their requests, and
strikes the first impression
about the hotel into their
minds.

1. Triple room- a room intended to accommodate
three people which may come with one double
bed and one roll away bed, two single beds and
one roll away bed or three single beds.
2. Quadruple room- a room designed for four
people; bed set-up may also vary to two twin
beds or two double beds or even 2 bunk beds for
dormitory operation.
3. Family room- the room may vary with at least
one double bed and one single bed or up to
separate bedroom ideal for traveling families.

1. Studio- a room with ideal for sleeping and
receiving guest providing bedroom and sitting
room facility; sometimes referred to as executive
room.

traveling groups.
3. Adjacent or adjoining rooms- these rooms
situated side by side recommended for groups;
rooms without connecting door.
4. Suite- according to room set-up a living room

1. Duplex- a room which has two levels or room with a
loft as bedroom provided with internal staircase.
2. Cabana- a room terminology used normally for
resorts which imply nearness to a recreational
facilities like beach or swimming pool.
3. Hollywood Twin room- a room which has two single
bed but shares a common head board.
4. Lanai room- a room which offers a scenic view may
be of a nearby garden, landscape or water fall.
