 INTRODUCTION
• On 2010, Jabatan Kebajikan Malaysia (JKM) state 64 000 blind people
were registered.
• Based on the statistic, there is increasing number of blind people over
year caused by several diseases which is cataracts, glaucoma, diabetic
retinopathy and retinitis pigmentosa.
 INTRODUCTION

Here an example of a standard white cane that has some limitations:

1. can only detect resistance when in contact with resistance
2. cannot detect resistance accurately and cannot detect above knee level resistance
3. do not have navigation technology to guide the blind to move to unfamiliar locations
 NEED
• Our solution or product target is sigthless/blind people.
• Our customer need including:
- afforadble smart blind stick technology
- adjustable blind stick based on customer height preference
- blind stick that able to detect obstacle precisely (can detect above
knee level obstacle)
- blind stict that can detect obstacle from far (without stick hitting the
obstacle)
 APPROACH
• Our solution for customer is modified existing blind stict including:
- use ultrasonic sensor ( detection distance between the sensor and
the obstacle is 120 cm)
- use infrared sensor ( to detect obstruction in front of the blind
people)
- audio and vibration device to increase mobility
- provide map voices ( maps give voice instruction through a Bluetooth
earphone)
