1U CUBESAT

TEAM MARS
INTRODUCTION:
1U CubeSat:
• Miniaturized satellite
• 1U – 10cm x 10 cm x 10 cm
• Having mass less than 1.33 kilograms.
• They are deployed from P-POD
OVERVIEW:
• Subsystems – P.V.S Talpa
• PCB’s – Vishal Chandra Yadav
• Components in CubeSat – Sudharm
SUBSYSTEMS IN A CUBESAT:

There are 4 main subsystems :

1. Command and Data Handling System
2. Altitude Determination and Control System
3. Electrical and Power System
4. Communication System
1) CONTROL AND DATA HANDLING SYSTEM:

• It is responsible for on-board spacecraft operations and handling internal spacecraft

communications between subsystems
2) ALTITUDE DETERMINATION AND CONTROL SYSTEM :
2) ALTITUDE DETERMINATION AND CONTROL SYSTEM:

• It is responsible for properly orienting the CubeSat and

accurately determining its location in the orbit.
• Sinclair reaction wheel
• Magnetorquer
• Sun sensor
• Gyroscope
3) ELECTRICAL AND POWER SYSTEM
• Highly integrated Electrical Power System electronics that ensure optimal power generation and distribution.

4) COMMUNICATION SYSTEM:

• CubeSat requires a radio and antenna

• To downlink the data it collects from the ADC subsystem

• Receive commands from the ground station operator.

BOARD

IN CUBESAT
WHAT IS PCB?

• A PCB is a thin board made of fiberglass,

• composite epoxy, or
• other laminate material.
NEED OF PCB’S IN CUBESATS

• Mechanical Support
• Electrical Connection
STANDARDS OF PCB’S

• Various Standards are required to Design,

• Based on different Parameters
AEROSPACE PCB

• Reliable Communication
• Internal
• External
MANUFACTURING:

• Manufactured by Contract Manufacturers

• Based on Standards of various Parameters
• Set of Techniques
THESE TECHNIQUES WILL HELP IN
MANUFACTURING A RELIABLE AND STABLE
PCB:

• Use rad-hard components

• Increase solder paste
• Use PCB pins
• Use conformal coating
• Use Smaller Components
components
A various types of components are needed for a GPS cubesat .
