Course Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of the course, students should be
able to:
⚫CLO1: Describe the nature of construction industry
and building works in local context.
⚫CLO2: Determine the appropriate construction
methods, processes and drawings for substructure
works of a typical building project.
⚫CLO3: Determine the appropriate construction
methods, processes and drawings for superstructure
works of a typical building project.

⚫Week 9 to 10 : Stairs
⚫Week 11 to 12 : Roofs
⚫Week 13 : Retaining Walls
⚫Week 14 : Revision

Course Assessment
⚫Assessment of this course is based on:
⚫60% Final E-Examination, for which students are
required to answer 4 out of 5 questions within 2
hours.
⚫40% Coursework consists of assignment and
tests.
⚫Students must obtain a minimum of 50% for the
coursework component and 40% for the examination
component in order to pass the course.

Coursework Components
Coursework will be marked as 100% consists of:
⚫ 50% Assignment: Overview of Construction Site (Week 5 to
7)
⚫Stages of Building Construction, Site Plant and
Equipment, Scaffolding, Health and Safety Measures on
Site
⚫ 25% Test 1 (Week 9)
⚫Foundations, Basements
⚫25% Test 2 (Week 11)
⚫Ground Floors, Frames & Upper Floors, Stairs
Note: Coursework feedback on Week 13.

Attendance!!!
⚫Attendance will be taken for all tutorial online
classes in accordance to the timetable.
⚫Students shall apply for sick or emergency leave
with the FOBE office if applicable and inform
respective tutors accordingly to update their
online attendance records.
⚫Any students with poor attendance and did not
submit coursework will be barred from taking the
final e-examination and thus required to repeat
the course.
