INFOR XA Functional Modules

Demand Planning/Forecasting (FCST)

Forecasting (FCST) is the XA application for statistical forecasting. It is unique in its ability to meet the
forecasting needs of manufacturing and distribution. FCST monitors customer demand and provides
forecasts of future demand. These forecasts are made both for the total company and for each selling
warehouse. These forecasts are for items which have been identified by specific item numbers
designated as master level items.
FCST can also develop projections for customer demand for up to three years into the future based
upon life cycles which you define. This information can be used in capacity and market planning.

Customer Order Management (COM)

The Customer Order Management (COM) application allows you to enter, maintain, process, track,
and invoice customer orders

Material Requirement Planning (MRP)

The MRP process consists of three basic tasks:
• Specifying requirements for master level items on the master level item schedule
• Initiating an MRP planning run which creates planned orders
• Release the planned orders to the Inventory Management application to build the needed items and
replenish their component parts.

Capacity Requirements Planning (CRP)

Use Capacity Requirements Planning to determine if work center capacities (workers and machines)
can meet the master production schedule. CRP compares the workload (open, planned, firm planned,
and/or customer orders) by time period to the available capacity for each production facility. The
results are available through inquiries and reports. This allows you to identify the work centers where
over- or underloads exist and make adjustments to the workload or production capacity.

Master Production Schedule Planning (MPSP)

Master Production Schedule Planning (MPSP) is a powerful business tool for Computer Integrated Manufacturing
(CIM), Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP II), and Just-In-Time (JIT) companies. MPSP simplifies the conceptual
and operational link between a high-level business plan determined by management and the manufacturing activities
that support the plan.
The MPSP application provides interrelated functions in the areas of production planning, master schedule planning,
resource planning, and available-to-promise. These functions complement those provided by your use of Material
Requirements Planning (MRP). Effective and consistent use of these functions helps maintain a smooth product flow
through your company and brings you closer to achieving your CIM, MRP II, and JIT objectives.

Enterprise Product Data Management (EPDM)

XA EPDM is an engineering application for both single site and multi-site organizations. EPDM organizes, maintains,
and presents the product engineering data to a manufacturing organization. This data includes information about
inventory items, such as raw materials, purchase parts, subassemblies, and assemblies, in structural parent/component
relationships.

Purchasing/Procurement (PUR/PM)
Purchasing is designed to improve productivity and management control in all departments involved in procurement. The
objectives of Purchasing are to provide up-to-date information to improve decision making and to enhance communication, both
internally and with vendors

Inventory Management (IM)

XA Inventory Management (IM) application assists in improving the control of inventory. The objectives of Inventory Management
are to improve your decision-making by providing up-to-date information and reducing inventory, while maintaining tight operating
and audit controls. By meeting these objectives, you can allocate inventory costs efficiently while maintaining satisfactory customer
service levels, thereby getting maximum return on inventory investment.

Production Monitoring and Control (PMC)

The Production Monitoring and Control (PM&C) application lets you track the status of jobs, production facilities, and employees,
based on up-to-the-minute production activity. As employee clock on and off jobs or move materials, they report this activity
through terminals on the shop floor. Information can be entered or read by optically scanning bar-coded documents that XA
produces. PM&C receives the transactions as they are entered and updates the status of jobs and employees to reflect these
changes. As a result, the shop floor can be more easily controlled since problems can be identified and resolved as they occur.

Production Control and Costing (PCC)

The Production Control and Costing (PC&C) application provides an orderly means of planning and controlling your
production.
•Prints the shop packet with component material lists or routings or both, when manufacturing orders are released.
•Summary records for manufacturing orders and operations.
•Summary reports of component materials and miscellaneous costs for each manufacturing order.
•Edits reported shop activity against stored summary records.
•Posts edited reported shop activity to stored summary records.
•Allows you to search for specific information, such as item numbers and work center IDs.

International Financial Management (IFM)

International Financial Management (IFM) supports all accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger functions.
It handles multiple currencies and many world-wide tax requirements. It allows you to analyze your financial data using
customized management reports and financial statements.

Cross Application Support (CAS)

Use Cross Application Support (CAS) to install and manage the Infor ERP XA applications
