• Creating the first impression


• Smile pleasantly and firm shake hands in a formal manner
• Use an appropriate greeting: Hi, good morning, good after noon, etc.
• How do you do – “How do you do”
• Respond pleasantly when the person greets you back.
• Avoid responding in monosyllables, they are considered as rude.
• Don’t fidget, roll up your eyes, or cross your arms

• Use your full name to introduce yourself
• Address the person appropriately with: Mr/Ms/Dr/Prof etc.
• Understand the organisational culture
• Ex: Hello, Mr.Rathan…Hello (Formal)
• Allow me to introduce myself, I am Sanjay.
• Ex: Hey Navin.. Hi Sanjay. (Informal)
