them.

purpose and direction.
• Involves selecting mission and objective and the
action to achieve them.
• Not only bridges the gap from where we are to

TYPES OF PLANS
1. PURPOSES OR MISSION- identifies
the basic function or task. Every
organized operation should have a
purpose or mission.

1. OBJECTIVES OR GOALS- are the ends toward
which activity is aimed they are the results
to be achieved. (decision making, organizing,
staffing, controlling, communicating,
directing or leadership and innovating).

3. STRATEGIES- refers to the grand plans made.
a plan of action or policy designed to
achieve a major or overall aim.

Three (3) common usages of strategies
• General Programs of Action and Development of Resources to
attain comprehensive objectives.

• The Program of Objectives of an Organization and their changes,


resources used to attain these objectives, and policies governing
the acquisition, use, and disposition of these resources.

• The determination of the basic long-term objectives of an


enterprises and the adoption of courses of action and allocation of
resources necessary to achieve these goals.

4. POLICIES- are general statements or
understandings which guide or channel thinking
in decision making.

required method of handling future activities.

or non-actions, allowing no discretion.

elements necessary to carry out given course
of action.
