My Role

Model
My Role Model
introduction

Everyone has someone in his mind who he/she want to be like .It can be anyone
from the Movies or past or present he/she want to be like. I also have a person which
I want be like .She is doctor ,and her name is Dr Muthu Laxmi Reddy. She was a
surgeon and a social reformer. She was born on 30 July 1886 at Pudukkottai in
Tamil Nadu. She was the one and only girl to pass Metric exam at that year .At the
age of 26 she became a doctor . She was in women right activism too. She also won
the Padma Bhushan Award, But there she also faces some problem doing all .She
had Asthma at the age of 9 or 10 because of that she skipped her study for a year
,but she dosen’t let Asthma destroy her goal ,that is the thing we should learn from
her.
Her main SUBJECTS OF LIFE
She was the first female student to be admitted into a men's college. The first woman House
Surgeon in the Government Maternity and Ophthalmic Hospital , and the first woman Legislator in
British India. The first Chairperson of the State Social Welfare Advisory Board, the first woman
Deputy President of the Legislative Council, and the first Alderwoman of the Madras Corporation .
She was concerned about the orphans, especially girls.
Muthu Lakshmi was the author of numerous social reforms. Her book My Experience as a
Legislator records her service. She passed a resolution to establish a special hospital for
women and children. The government accepted her suggestion and opened a children's
section in the maternity hospital. She recommended systematic medical inspection of
students in all schools and colleges, run by municipalities as well as other local bodies.
She was the president of the All-India Women's Conference. She passed the bill for the
suppression of brothels and immoral trafficking in women and children. A home for girls
and women was opened through her efforts to provide shelter to those rescued from
brothels. Due to her efforts, a hostel for Muslim girls was opened and scholarships were
given for Harijan girls. She recommended to the government that the minimum age for
marriage be raised to at least 21 for boys and 16 for girls.
What I learn from my role model
1 We should face our problems bravely and never let them destroy our goal
2 We should think for others and help others too.
3 Always do good deeds.
4 Never use bad options
5 Always Take the side of truth
6 Stay close to positive energy
7 Never forget those who help you when you are in a bad situation.
