Explain what is the object and why are you choosing to describe it.

Introduction
Make a general statement about the person and why you choose to
describe this person. Give an outline of essay.

Two main parts: Physical description & Personality traits

DESCRIBING AN EXPERIENCE
Introduction
Make a general statement about the experience
Establish the setting (Where and when)
Body
Description of the narrative (trip).
Conclusion
Reflect on the trip and say why it was memorable
STYLE
Focus of assessment: Ability to use words or phrases that appeal to
sensory details and the use of literary devices to create images. Grammar
is also marked.
Tone: Semi-formal. You can use personal pronouns and contractions but
not too many.
Submission: The essay is to be typed and saved as a word document under
your full name and ID number.
Font type: Times New Roman & Size: 12 Space: 1.15 lined space
Pages: Title page; Essay; Reference if you used ideas from another source.
SUMMARY
Literary devices can be found all around us: songs, advertisements, movies,
books, poems, and so on
Choose ONE question for assignment 1.
Create a title for each one.
The essay is 500-600 words long and must be typed and uploaded on Moodle.
Save under full name and ID and word document using Times New Roman
font size 12 in 1.15 spaced lines.
Due Friday 2nd April at 11:55pm. Drop box will close at this time.
