• The company rises the fund of $14.5 million to continue the development
• Its competitors are Naio Technologies and Gecko Robotics.
HOW GIS IS USED BY THE COMPANY
• The company relies on technology which is a combination of Artificial
Intelligence, computer vision and robotics to pull out weeds in vegetable
fields.
• Artificial intelligence: the ability of a digital computer or computer-
controlled robot to perform tasks commonly associated with intelligent
beings.
• Computer Vision: is a field of artificial intelligence (AI) that enables
computers and systems to derive meaningful information from digital
images, videos and other visual inputs and take actions based on that
information.
• Robotics: It’s a technology that deals with the design, construction,
operation, and application of robot.
• The company’s first and latest machine model is Titan FT-35
• Differentiates the weeds from main crop with AI algorithms.
• Includes the cameras and rotary blades and runs by diesel.
• It displays the data on monitor of the person who is operating the machines.
• Only used for few Crops like lettuce, broccoli, cauliflower etc.,
• The common weeds in cauliflower crop are  Chenopodium murale, Malva
sylvestris and Echinochloa colonum.
• The main reason for the development of this machine is to face the crisis of
labor in California.
• California is known as ‘Salad Bowl of World’ so majorly used here.
• Covers the area of 5 to 6 acres per day.
• Removes 95% of weeds.
Advantages Disadvantages
• Time saving • Expensive
• No harm to plants • Need experts to
• Also performs at night perform activities
• Environmental friendly • Not suitable for all
• Suitable for organic and crops
