(c)Situation become serious due to population,
government failed to provide jobs

 14% of total population are BPL
 21% of Egyptian population was near poor
 19.6% of the population was poor
 3.8% of the population was extreme poor
 44.4% of the population are in the range of
extreme poor to near poor
Protestor’s Demands

 End President Mubarak’s 30 years reign


 Lift the emergency law
 Amend constitution to allow all political
parties to field candidates in elections, impose
term limits, allow election monitors
 Presidential decree to change succession rules
 Release the thousands held in administrative
detention without charge
Conclusion
Mubarak agrees to transfer his power after
September election. The situation will be
favorable to the protestants.
