An Icon for the Kingdom

“For we are to God the pleasing aroma of Christ among
those who are being saved and those who are perishing.”

2 Cor. 2: 15
The idea of marriage being an icon of God’s
kingdom is clearly implied in Gen. 1: 27
“So God created man in His own image, in the image of
God He created him; male and female He created them.”
An icon is a small graphical representation of a
program, feature, or file. When you click or
double-click an icon, the associated file or program
opens or an action is performed…Icons help users
quickly identify the type of file represented by the
Computerhope.com icon.
A good marriage will reflect
The oneness of God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Gen.
2: 23; John 17: 21)
Synergy of God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Gen. 1: 26)
The forgiving and caring spirit of God (Isa. 54: 4-6)
The selfless, sacrificial love of God (Eph. 5: 59)
The untainted holiness of God (Heb. 13: 4)
So, when you come across a Christian marriage, it is a
little icon that makes you desire to know more, see more,
and experience more the realities of the One who
instituted marriage.
A real Christian marriage is indeed an icon that reveals a
lot about the joy that is reserved for those who will make it
to the Kingdom of God.
It is my prayer that when the parents, teachers, and role models see you, they will exclaim with testify

through the words of Paul in 2 Cor. 3: 3, saying

clearly you are an epistle of Christ, ministered by us, written

not with ink but by the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of
stone but on tablets of flesh, that is, of the heart.
2 Cor. 3: 3
Gabriel and Patricia will therefore have to remind each other the words of Paul in Hebrews 12: 1-2:
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud
of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and
the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with
perseverance the race marked out for us,

HEB. 12: 1-2

fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of
faith…
Remember the impediments on the way

The enemy knew what the Lord would do through you, no wonder he has been wild

Be faithful to each other as a matter of life ad death

Cling to each other as if there are no alternatives of joy and success

Remember you have now been called to be an icon of the Kingdom of God

Your home environment must be a shortcut to the heavenly environment

Your daily life must be a tour guide on the path to paradise

Your daily care for each other must be are a microscope to the little things of daily life that lead to

holiness

You are a telescope to the impending return of a Lord Jesus Christ

You are a at a shortcut to the

Most trying mut safest path:

Marriage is probably the most attached institution on earth, but it remains the best human association

for wholistic growth to the fullest maturity and for the greatest joy:

 There is not better opportunity to love than in marriage

 There is no better opportunity to learn forgiveness than in marriage

 There is no better opportunity to learn patience than in marriage

 There is no better opportunity to help one another than in marriage

 There is not better opportunity to feel accepted than in marriage

 There is no better opportunity to learn to sacrifice than in marriage

 There is no better opportunity to experience the oneness of God than in marriage

 There is no better opportunity to be shielded from worldly passions and lust than in marriage

 NO WONDER, GABRIEL AND PATRICIA HAVE FOUGHT FOR IT TILL THEY GOT IT
YES,
Ecclesiastes
4: 9-12 will
forever be
Two are better than one,
right. It says
because they have a good return for their labor:
that 10
If either of them falls down,
one can help the other up…
11
Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm.
But how can one keep warm alone?
12
Though one may be overpowered,
    two can defend themselves.

Eccl. 4: 9-12
Please, Gabriel and Patricia (and anyone who

cares about his or her marriage)

Let no one be allowed between you except Christ

Let no conversation with outsiders on your marriage be more valued than your own conversation at

home

Let no former friend retain the attention that is needed by your spouse

Let no parental caprices occupy or preoccupy you as much as your spouse’s needs

Let no one enjoy your smile, warmth, gifts, time, communication more than your spouse

Let not your selfish self prevent your spouse from enjoying your company

Let not your selfish self prevent you from enjoying your spouse’s company
Remember, you are an icon

for God’s kingdom

A time is coming when all

the faithful icons of the

kingdom shall be rewarded

for allowing the world

around them to have access

to the Kingdom.
Make sure your marriage is a functional icon;

make sure your is not a frozen icon;

make sure your marriage has not become an icon of a virus to the

Kingdom;

Make sure your marriage is an updated icon to the Kingdom of

God.

Make sure that your marriage does not cause anyone around you

miss the way to the Kingdom
