INTRODUCTION

Kaveri is an Indian river flowing through


the state of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. It
is the fourth largest after Godavari and
Mahanadi River in South India. The Kaveri
basin is estimated to be 81,155 sq.km.

FINAL VERDICT 2018
The Supreme Court on 16 February 2018 delivered
its verdict in the Kaveri water dispute, allocating
more water to the state of Karnataka.
An instructed by the Supreme Court ,the Cauvery
Water Management Authority (CWMA) & Cauvery
Water Regulation Committee was created on 1 June
2018.
